Sir Liam Joseph Donaldson FMedSci (born 3 May 1949, Middlesbrough, England, UK) is a British doctor and the current Chancellor of Newcastle University. He was previously the Chief Medical Officer for England, the 15th occupant of the post since it was established in 1855.〔(Department of Health press release 15 December 2009. ).
